Abnormal tyre wear.

Featured Replies

Hi,  just noticed very bad wear on all 4 wheels, outer edges will soon be illegal!

Had to park with some  lock on and got a big shock when I saw them.

I've been running 2.8 bar for 7k miles mostly just me.

Any advice before I go to the dealer?

Thanks in advance.

Haven’t seen any other posts on tyre wear. What size tyres and make have you got. Normally outside edge wear would point to under inflated tyres but at 2.8 bar, that can’t be the case.  I run my 235x5019’s at the recommended 2.4 bar ( 35psi) and have no abnormal wear.

Hi Kenny, same as yours.if anything it should be centre wear if over inflated but there not, no doubt they'll tell me I've been driving on tarmac.

Somethings not right there I’ve done a fair few miles on both sets of wheels and all pretty much even wear

...If its only the outer edges, it points to faulty components or misalignment.

Pressure issues usually occur on both sides or centre, depending on under or over inflation.

Is the 7,000 miles the total mileage the tyres have covered, or only the mileage with the tyres set to 2.8 bar?

Hi   total mileage is 7k just this week. Thanks for the help. I can feel a senior moment being manufactured for me.
