Had the engine management light come on about 8 months ago. Haven't been able to drive the car for the last 6 months (was going to put in to the garage before now). Have now had it serviced and the dealer has confirmed the problem. It will cost 1.90 hours labour to clean it. I have trust in my dealer, long term trust.

It had the "fix" almost three years ago. It is a 140 2ltr diesel 12 reg with 92k miles.

 

Your help/input/advice would be appreciated.

The throttle position sensor is behind the radiator on the air inlet pipe attached to the inlet stub.

 

The EGR connects to the inlet stub just above the throttle valve.

 

EGR gas with all its particulates condense in the stub, then run down under gravity into the throttle valve & gunge it up.

 

Fairly easy to remove the throttle valve & clean it.

 

While removed, clean out all the gunk in the inlet stub where the EGR discharges.

Also just to mention that the DPF won't regenerate while the throttle valve has a fault.

Got my car back yesterday. Service, brake fluid and mot done.

Also had the original Blocked throttle Position Sensor G69 totally cleaned including the spigot noted by PipH, thank you.

 

Total cost £185.68.

 

Oh by the way even though the car is over 7 years old (93k miles) and the "fix" was done 2 years ago early last August, Skoda paid for that part to be stripped and cleaned. There were circumstances as I had reported it last August but had not been able to get the car to the garage until a month ago (illness). The dealer (Senior service receptionist Jenny Cox) was extremely helpful in supporting my claim as was Martin Bergman (Skoda CS) to get Skoda to pay.

Very pleased just to be driving my car after nearly 7 months and especially pleased with the above outcome.

I will be putting this on the dealer page as well.
