Got a call from main dealer to say this update was required, booked it in and the info was 90k1 software. Any clue has too what it involves. Car runs to well for them to screw it up. 

Ask them in writing, or ask Skoda UK exactly what it is and why it is being done.

It should not be a Skoda Secret Service Campaign.   Was there not even a clue from the clueless one that phoned you?
