JUST RETURNED FROM FRANCE WIFE ME AND DOG GSD HEADING DOWN TO MILLAU DOING ABOUT 70 LOUND BANG ALL COVERED IN GLASS HAIR ETC REAR WINDOW EXPLODED ESCORTED TO GLASS FRANCE SAID COULD NOT GET PART SO PLASTIC AND TAPE GOT US HOME 400 SLOW MILES  I KNOW THEY  ARE AIRTIGHT BUT THIS WAS ALARMING AT LEAST WE ARE SAFE BAR A FEW SCRATCHES

With bonded glass unlikely to be a rear vent issue (was an issue with some old cars under certain circumstances)

Two days ago, I heard the strangest occasional whining noise while driving south to Bordeaux from Brittany.

Maybe every minute or so. I thought for a while this was a transient bluetooth audio issue. Never had one so far.

I eventually found out that the passenger window wasn't as tightly closed as I thought.

Opening it and closing it again, the whining entirely stopped.

The sound was pretty loud and I suppose the window vibrating was what caused it.

My two cents.

I think we all gonna have troubles with the windows in the future .....

Perhaps it's a Skoda characteristic like our SKIPPY engine response. Hope the op doesn't have the 1.5Tsi manual in their SEL otherwise that's a lot of inbuilt character in one car. Like having Mickey Mouse and Pluto in the same body. Waiting for our SEL rear window to go bang now.

i ve seen in in Dealers workshop ,  2 Kodiak TAXI ,
