Featured Replies

Morning all hope all is well, new to this site ,have read posts in the past very impressed ☺ need advice / help. Have owned Octavia 1.9 tdi 2010 for two years, bought at 45000 now 56000 miles 2nd owner old boy had it from new (happy days).Clutch has always been heavy, judder from take off in 1st and reverse, once on the move all is fine no rattle or smell, peddle has remained level with brake.I am an experienced driver of over 40 years and feel car could be better, I service all my cars and have done for ever.Have been looking at dmf to smf conversion, any recommendations for local indy,Hornchurch Essex.

I live in Kent but went all the way up to Barnsley to have mine changed, by a firm called - Darkside Developments.

Had it done at around 93K, the car now has nearly 180K and it still feels good. You could always get the kit sent to you and hopefully have it installed locally. I am sure someone on here can advise a good local fitter.

Your local mechanic should be able to if they’re good. But this will only be worthwhile if you have a 5-speed gearbox, not the 6-speed.

Why is it not good for a 6 speed  box

Whilst the kit can be fitted to the 6-speed box, they aren’t well suited to each other and you’ll find your clutch to be much less smooth and reliable.
