Octavia vrs juddery on low acceleration

Featured Replies

Anybody know what the problem could be or had a similar problem? Seems to be on low acceleration if I floor it it’s fine, maf has been changed recently

Look mate, they're only golden, not crystal!

If they didn't share on Golden Balls it really winds:wall: me up. Perhaps Joe has the smooth 1.5Tsi upgrade, if so the software fix is now available. Are the rear calipers sticking at low speed?

Nope only the 1.8 turbo :D it’s only just started doing it was just seeing if anyone else has had the same problem before it goes in to the garage

@Joebiggss - Look mate, my serious point is that there are multiple possible causes of a problem like your #1.

What Ken means is... a lot more info needs to be given to help you out.

Juddery acceleration.. yup, loads of people, with loads of different causes.

So...

How is it when cold and hot starting, any particular colour of smoke.

How does it run on idle - consistent revs or a bit erratic.

How does it run at a constant speed.

Does it start at a particular speed? Is in a particular rev range or gear.

Has it thrown any limp modes.

Is the car mapped / modded or running standard.

Was the MAF change a genuine or aftermarket replacement, and how long ago.

Obvious stuff.

How old are the spark plugs, are they gapped correctly etc.

Coilpacks - are they original (subject to the recall) part number or new.

Has the throttle body been cleaned recently or ever

Have you checked for loose / split pipes hoses etc..

Is it losing oil or coolant.

Hows the fuel consumption.

Have access to or know anyone with vcds to get it scanned. (Check the user list here, someone may be able to help)

Had to get recovered last night it got so bad! A lot of vibration through the car and a screeching noise which made me think engine/gearbox mount but the rac plugged it In and said missfire on all cylinders so Gunna check if the coil packs have been recalled and check any other likely things.

Thanks for the tips
