Cogs Symbol in Virtual Cockpit

Featured Replies

So I've recently taken delivery of a Sportline with Virtual Cockpit. I notice at the top of the display between the time and the temperature displays there is another symbol of two cogs together (see attached  photo). I've done some searching to no avail; could someone put me out of my OCD misery and explain what that symbol is and hopefully how to clear it?!

You are driving in Individual mode. Each mode has its own symbol on the VC. A leaf for ECO (or is that on Comfort? can't remember now), straight road for Normal, curved road for Sport and these two cogs for Individual.

Question: When was the car manufactured and does the car start in the mode you left it? / Is that symbol on when you first start the car or it's being replaced by "Normal" mode symbol (straight road) at start-up?

PS. How can a Sportline not have the Sports skin from factory?  (unless you coded it out via VCDS)

Ah, right, that makes sense; thanks. Car is MY19 Sportline 280 (Aus spec retains the 206KW/280HP for MY19) but manufactured in Oct 18. It does not appear to have the sports skin (that I have found), which I was a little surprised about, but I'm not a big fan of the carbon fibre skin so really not too worried about it. Yes, it does stay in individual mode between starts (ie. it will not be replaced by normal mode at start-up).

Ok October 2018 is still 1st phase MY19 (up to November) so it should retain driving mode as you report. I guess the Sports skin was not standard on the 1st phase MY19 and became after November or is that a OZ spec? It;s not osmething that choose from the in-car menu anyway, so either you have it or not. I do prefer the Sports skin, not due to the CF texture so much as for the red colour. One thing that would definitely be nice though would be to unlock the extra speed values and max speed value of 280km/h, that fills the speedo quite nicely, Sports skin or not.

Yes, I think you're right about the first phase of MY 19. I've had a look at some other 'early' MY 19 Sportlines here and they also do not have the CF skin, so it looks like they'll start coming through for delivery here around now. I was pleased that it retained the double pipe exhaust on each side, rather than what looks like a change to a single pipe on each side with the 272 versions coming through now.

Oh yeah, let's not start again about our precious valve deletion :crying: lol
