Columbus 510 not deleting or saving destinations?

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Superb Elegance 2011 with a Columbus 510N  H71 Software 5238 Map west Europe, Supplier Navteq Map Ver: 8536...

For some reason it has decided to prevent me from Deleting or Saving destinations. It seems to save them for about 20 minutes and then reverts back to what they were previously. I have looked a couple posts but there don't seem to be any definitive answers. Someone recommended reinstalling the firmware, I wonder it this is likely to help. Seems odd the the NVRam would be causing the problem if it writes temporarily. Maybe the problem it the NVRam transferring it's contents to the HDD. I am only guessing here, being a computer engineer it seems feasible. Any idea please? Are there any engineers here that repair the units?

Yep.

First off, a software update or reinstall won't help. A dealer level update doesn't overwrite the data, and a factory update will wipe everything and you'll have a complete restart to do including recoding to your car.

You need specialist software to erase the user data. I can do this if your near North Yorkshire.
