Octavia Mk III on dyno

Featured Replies

Hello all !

Firstly i will kindly ask the moderators to close this thread if it is already started somewhere (used the search function and didn't found anything related to what i'm about to ask).

So, i did a remap today, all good the car runs and i went to do a dyno just out of curiosity. And here the problems begin :))

First , the car is smart enough to tell whether it is moving or it's just doing a burnout, hence it kill the power.

Second, i looked after the fuse for the abs, found it and did not remove it (i was "scared") so i've unplugged the ABS.

Then the problem continues: the car just doesn't want to go as expected, it has some kind of limitation which i cannot found.

I found an youtube clip which tweaks the ESC but i think that is only for FWD because on my car doesn't make an improvement.

The car is an Octavia MK3 2.0 tdi (cr) 150ps DSG6 (dq25) and the expectation after the remapping it that it would do ~185ps and 420nm torque, still the car doesn't go over 170ps and 360 nm torque.

Advices?

hazards on, press the accelerater 5 times then that will put it in dyno mode.

then something else is going on to stop it doing it if youve tried pulling sensors, i know the fuse can cut off the fuel pump

They just pull the fuse on my MY18 vRS245

Perhaps you've been conned. Wouldn't be the first time. My 2013 Octavia 2.0Tdi when mapped properly and rolling roaded at the same time went from 147-186bhp and from 246 (standardard claim is 236)-317lb/ft. I paid £500 for this remap and 2 dyno runs, how much did you pay and who did (or did not) the work?:blushTop speed increased from 135-150mph also.

i paid 400E. There are some improvements in the way the car runs. In fifth gear it goes 200km/h...

I'll go back today (i hope i have time) and put the original map on, go to the dyno, and afterthat put again the map and do another dyno.

The question with the dyno still remains... I'll try first doing it in dyno mode and if that won't work i'll try removing the fuse for the ABS module...

The graph look goodish to me. I think he forgot to enable something :)))

Will find out today

Hi guys, The problem with testing the car on dyno is solved. The car must be in dyno mode. You activate this mode as @AMD87 said.

As for the other problem, i now have a new map (not final) which i hadn't measured.

With the stock map , the car pulled on dyno 149.6 hp and 338Nm torque.
