Sahara Beige Replacement

Featured Replies

I was planning to order an Octavia in May, in either Sahara Beige or Silver. The garage tells me that the beige has now been discontinued, though they could still pick one up for me. Apparently there is a similar, replacement colour coming out. Does anyone have any idea what that might be, and when it will be available?

Thanks.

I was told today that Sahara was been replaced with 'Capaccino'

Is this colour or its equivalent available on other VAG models?

Nice colour that it is what I got for my Elegance and I am very pleased with how it looks, plus it does not show up the dirt and road grime.

Also, unlike dark colours, it gives the vehicle a good look of length, width and lowness. Mind you the best colour for that long low sleek look is silver or variations of silver. Blacks, dark/medium blues, dark greens and some reds make the vehicle look short and boxy and show up all the dirt and road grime.

Weve just ordered one in sahara for the same reason as Toneboy, If you want sahara & you are definate about buying the car then your dealer should have no problem ordering it now with a small deposit, £500 should do for May delivery or even a bit later

Thanks for the feedback. How does the Capuccino compare to the beige; is it darker or lighter? And is it still metallic? I think the Octavia would look really good in gold, but obviously VAG don't agree.

Gee, thanks Skoda! Our car has been built this week and clad in - guess what - Sahara Beige. So it's already out of date and I don't know if Cappucino Beige would have been better (that's if anyone had told us it was to be available). Tempted to find out what CB looks like, but it just might make me cry....

Later - Oh no, I take it all back! Went to the Austrian Skoda site and the car in CB looks like mouldy coffee grounds - a sort of iridescent yet depressing grey. SB is so much classier - why on earth did they discontinue it? And why can't we have some really nice colours like the Octy Mk 1?

If you look at Mercedes & BMW the latest trend seems to be various shades of Grey so guess Skoda are just following fashion, Its one thing that put us off the Titan for the new car, Whilst its quite attractive its a pig to keep clean & there are just toooooooo many Grey cars these days.

Having said all that Merc have a new light browney silver called Qubanite & that with a bit of Pearl thrown in is likely to be the colour I will get the Octy resprayed in

And why can't we have some really nice colours like the Octy Mk 1?

When I got my Mk 1 vRS there were only 4 colours available, and two of them [tomato soup red and pale custard] were totally unacceptable [to me] the third was black, which looked good but hard to keep clean, and the fourth was silver, which I got.

I'm still impressed with my Elegance in Sahara Biege, it never looks dirty, and even after a quick wash always looks the bizz. Can't wait for the one or two days of summer that we're allowed, to try and polish it properly.

Just ordered a new company Mazda 6, and the colour choice was revolting. Not many colours, too many horendous bluey/greens, turquiose, and other foul combinations. Ended up with Silver ! The only acceptable colour, and I have to pay out of my own pocket for the metallic !! Grrrrrrrrrr.

And yes I did ask for a company Octavia, before you all kill me. And yes they refused .......:orb_upset

Completely agree - this colour loves the sun, let's all move to Florida!!

So maybe our Sahara Beige cars will become a much sought-after version in later years!

I was really tempted to have my octy estate in sahara beige as think it looks great. But we have black because for some reason (probably cos we live on a farm) we have a problem with fly dirt. The other cars we have had apart from black look dreadful cos they get covered in fly dirt after just one night, at least with a black car we can't see it so badly. But if i had lived anywhere else would have had sahara beige, am sorry to here that it going.

Do not be ashamed of your Mazda 6 they produced some very good and utterly reliable vehicles even if they can appear a bit boring.

I was the Mazda Zone Sales Manager in the South West for many years and I can assure you the only money the dealerships made out of the spare parts departments was for the sale of body parts following vehicle accidents.

It will be interesting to see how your Mazda holds up against the Skoda with respect to reliability and wear and tear, I look forward to your reports.

Friends of ours have just bought a 2 year old Mazda 6, they have a good write up. They wanted a family car, I suggested a Skoda but they felt that they looked too much like reps cars! Personally I think they can't get over the badge, shame as they have had a bad experience with a brand new Peugeot so won't buy new again, and don't think things are going smoothly with the Mazda purchase either. I don't think their is a standard rep car these days as all the reps |I know get to make a choice out of quite a lot of different types of vehicles.

Just a quick note to say this next Mazda 6 will be my 3rd, so I'm more than happy with it as a company work horse. In terms of comfort and practicality I would have prefered the Octavia.
