Twin door noise on closure.

Featured Replies

Just a quick question on twindows behavior.

When I've used the hatch and close it there is quite a loud CLUNK from the side locking mechanism when they re-engage on closing., its always done it sine I've had the car and doesn't seem to have got worse.

Is this normal and if not is there any known adjustment/cure?

If it is the same whir/clunk sound that mine has made since I bought mine at 14 months old then I think this is normal. I usually open/close mine as a hatch (single button operation on a facelift model) and only use the boot mode when it's raining or when I'm in a low roofed ferry or multistorey car park.

Thanks for the feedback John, it's certainly a fair old clunk although probably amplified by the boot panel. It sounds quit "unsophisticated" and certainly raises some looks. Xi ce I've had the car I've favoured using the boot as I thought the wiring issues were rated to where the wires go from the body to the tailgate, now I know that the issue is due to using the boot I will now change to using the hatch by default so will have to put up with the clunk a little more.
