Spare wheel kit

Featured Replies

Forgive me if this has already been covered...

We've just changed '09 1.9pd Ambiente estate for '16 2.0 Scout, and it has no wheel change kit. I've sourced the correct alloy/tyre (225/50R17), and am now after the jack/spanner kit. I could go down to Halfords and get a bog standard kit, but where can I source the black 'foam' insert (plus tools?) that would sit nicely inside the upturned spare?

TIA.

There is normally quite a few of the foam inserts for sale on eBay some complete with the jack and tools

Škoda didn’t supply any 17” spare wheels, they are either 16” or the super skinny 18”.

It may be worth getting one from a VW or Audi if you want it to fit snugly inside the 17” spare wheel.

My new (s/h) Scout comes with the 225/50 R17 on 'Polar' alloys - and I managed to find another identical one on Ebay.  Hence why I'm trying to source the actual changing tools and the fancy foam insert!

I gathered what you were trying to do, I was just pointing out that if you use a Škoda insert then it will be too small to fit snugly inside the rim.

I know on certain VW’s and Audi’s you can get a full size alloy spare, hence they should make the insert for a 17” wheel.

Ah, thanks. Still, too small would be better than too big (oo er missis), and we've got all sorts of bits of hd foam round the farm  I could pad it out with!
