Skoda TV adverts.

Featured Replies

Hi,

New Skoda TV adverts have appeared and watching these I won't be dashing out to buy a new Skoda anytime soon? Has anyone been tempted to buy a new Skoda after seeing one of these adverts?

Kind regards, Colin.

Got you posting about them, and maybe bring awareness to people that would never consider a Skoda. They might look more into them.

Not seen them if there are new ones, but so far the advertising must be working as Skoda's seem to be selling rather well.

Following your comments in other posts, it’s maybe that there are no Yetis in the adverts that is putting you off. :D

Wonderful, should have been the entry for the Eurovision.  For the UK..

I fear to think how much cash they wasted on this.

Although I think I did officially become a grumpy old git yesterday, so maybe #itsgottabeme

Probably a fraction of what VW Spend with Haymarket Media Group to launch new cars and ensure they get What Car car of the year and great reviews.

Time that VW Group had an Advert or a press release saying, we got many 1.5TSI EVO engine cars badly wrong and we will sort this out and leave no Owners / Drivers out of pocket.

'We know we are big upping the cars that are coming soon, Light Hybrid and EV, but before that we promise to get our act together over current lemons we built.'

'Contact your Skoda Customer Services and we will drop the BS about characteristics when it is actual faulty cars.'

WTF does 'from the window to the wah lalalaaaaaa' even mean?

I dislike the new TV adverts and they certainly won't encourage me to dash out and buy a new Skoda anytime soon.

But what really stops me from buying a new Skoda is the fact there is nothing in the current range that appeals to me.

And I'm keen to avoid certain "characteristics" of VAG group cars.

Sadly, my current (third) Skoda will probably be my last.

Hi,

Thanks Kenny, yes I'm definitely biased towards Yeti.

Nice one Skoffski; I hadn't realized there were so many assorted Skoda adverts; many thanks for taking the time to post them. Yes its the "gottabeme" advert I watched. I'm just a dinosaur remembering the likes of "Cadbury's Smash" adverts. Many modern adverts though I haven't a clue what they are on about.

I couldn't agree with you more Robjon; Bron and I are sticking with our Yeti; we can't find a car to tempt us away even though we've got plenty of funds for a new car; Skoda's are now clones of all the other modern cars on the road and don't appeal to us; this latest Skoda advert though actually would put us off buying Skoda. Quite a few of our neighbours are now favouring BMW's and Mercedes.

Kind regards, Colin.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

53 seconds was all that I could endure :speechless:

I remember when car ads used to tell you something about the vehicle and not trying to brainwash the braindead into believing that buying the latest Turdonwheels will give out a lifestyle message about them.

But for the life of me I cannot remember how many decades ago it was when a car advert did what it said on the tin, early 80's perhaps, I think the tide changed with the VW advert with the supermodel stripping off her fur coat and designer dress, throwing away her jewellery but keeping the keys to the Golf. It was a cracking advert though and deserved all the awards it got but look where it has ended - gottabemeeinnit :@

Missed the designer dress coming off version.

I would dare VW to bring back the 'squeak' advert considering the build quality of some of the current cars.

HaHa, the dress only came off in my imagination and memory!

This is the best maybe.

Thanks George, I'd forgotten that one^^^

Well blow me down, an actual advert, creative, catchy but which actually says something about the vehicle, not seen one since "if only all things in life were as reliable as a VW", the last rubbish that made me change channels were cars doing donuts in the bottom of a swimming pool, as you do

Hi,

WOW Skoffski; a great advert and one I've never previously seen. Bron was too ill to collect our new Yeti with me in July 2016 so I had the pleasure all to myself; just as in this advert DMK in Huddersfield had the Yeti in the showroom entrance under a black cover; as the cover was removed I too could have jumped up and down with joy and even now we both still love our Yeti. Shame on Skoda for dropping the Yeti. I've owned many wonderful cars over the years but the only other car I really liked a lot was my red Austin Healey 100/4 Reg EEB 88 over 40 years ago it was in showroom condition and cost a whole £150 now in similar condition £80,000. If we keep our Yeti will it too eventually increase in value.

Kind regards, Colin.
