Ocy Scout FL 2009 Bolero-NO reversing info

Featured Replies

Just noticed tonight that the reversing bleeping had stopped working and there was no change of display  on the Bolero ! the reversing lights came on, so I scanned the car and 01543 - parking aid warning chime H15- came up as faulty, are there any common faults that stop it working ? and where is the unit, couldnt find a marked fuse for it, there is a factory fitted towbar with genuine electrics fitted so if that was faulty could that cause the fault ? We were towing the caravan last weekend but I didnt notice if the bleeping was working.  cheers Stuart

You asked the same thing here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/466074-very-intermittent-parking-sensors/?do=findComment&comment=5232488

And got two replies that will help ;)

It'll be the separate speaker it uses for the beeps. As it's detected a fault it will have disabled the entire system.

Check it and it's wiring then replace if necessary :-)

The "beeper" is behind the L/H "B" pillar trim

Thanks for all of the info Langers,  you were correct as the Mylar speaker was open circuit when it should have been 50ohms, there are plenty of 8E0919279 speakers for sale on eBay so I hopefully wil get it in about 4-5 days, I just cannot believe when a standard speaker goes OC that it shuts down the whole reversing information  !  You live and learn - cheers Stuart

Its seen as a safety device, when I reverse I am looking in my mirrors not at the display and am aided but not guided by the audible warnings. No audible warnings = system failure.
