Mk3 vrs tdi turbo siren

Featured Replies

Hello! This is my first time posting here. Usually I search everywhere before asking myself about something. I own a octavia Vrs mk3 diesel 14 which I take care of and service myself and give here everything she wants... Oil for example, I know these love it and use a lot... Had her since 27k

In February on Valentins day, I gave my sweetheart a present... Remap.. . Yes I am talking about he car.

Since then I started noticing a siren noise coming from the engine bay. I've seen some other cars on YouTube but those are too loud compared to mine and it only does it under load and can only be heard in 1st and second gear, I believe it does it in the others but can't notice that. It does it between 1400 and 2000 rpm mostly when decelerate. The car has 85k now,  no oil leak from turbo, no loss of power, I know her power. While driving her I can even tell when she's regenerating the dpf so again no loss of power.

I'm not punishing the car every time I drive her, I allways leave the oil to cool a bit before I turn off, also never pushed her until engine is at operating temp.

Still with the stock exhaust dpf on and everything else. Haven't touched that...yet

The remap was Don by JBS wich is vag specialist so I belive they know what they're doing

Now my question is: is the turbo falling or is this normal. Has anyone had this issue. I know these engine differ a lot from the older ones so can't really compare them to others

Thank you in advance! Hope anyone can help

was there any hardware changes? EGR removal?

Nothing has been touched yet. Waiting for the dpf to start making problems as in getting to filled up and then I'll be blocking it and straight pipe dpf off everything... Map... But atm no, strange as did not make any sounds before and after the remap... It started maybe a month after. It is barely noticeable but I've herd that it's the beginning of the end... Just want to make sure what to expect... As said before these engines are a lot different than the mk2's and other older ones and as said it does it only under load. If it's in neutral position it won't sound at all.... I just hope there is a vacuum hose splited or something and haven't seen it...  but there is no smoke... But then again there is the dpf wich shouldn't let the smoke out :(((

:)) yeah I thought so! But nobody on the group has or noticed this issue... That's my concern... Maybe everyone else keeps their music loud but I have conversations with my engine :))
