there's a peculiar problem with the spare key of my vRS.

When i use the spare key to open the car the car doesn't open on pressing the unlock button. But when i put the key in the door and open the car opens and i can even start the car with the spare key. But the car still doesn't open or lock by pressing the buttons on the spare key.

Any idea why this is happening? and how can i fix it?

By the way the car starts with the spare key.

The battery's fine. the car is brand new. Forgot to mention that. Even the little light on the spare key remote lights up when i press the button.

According to the instruction manual there is a code which is exchanged with the key for the key to open the car. as i use the other key all the time, the code of the spare has to be revalidated. How does one do this?
