Bonnet switch/Wiper fault

Featured Replies

Help!!

I have the bonnet switch/wiper problem... I can live with that till the new switch arrives.. BUT.. The switch is now setting the alarm off at random times.

What is best? Short the two wires together to trick the system or cut the wores to disable the switch completely.

My neighbours are going mad at me!

Cheers,

Steve

You sure it's the bonnet switch causing it? Doesn't the alarm refuse to set if it thinks the bonnet is open?

Chris

Hi there, what you need to do is, on the bonnet mechanism theres a switch , well just disconnect the whole thing, and leave it dangling. that will solve the alarm problem. ok

hope this helps

The problem is *sometimes* the alarm sets, i.e. the switch works (indicators flash). Then later the switch fails and sets the alarm off. Also some day I have wipers, others I don't!

Damien - will try that that fix. Thanks!

Phone Skoda customer service to complain about the dealer not fixing the problem. 10 minutes later the dealer phonbes me - "bring in the car tomorrow and we'll fit the switch off another car in the showroom to yours"...
