VRS lag from standing start

Featured Replies

Hi guys. We have a Skoda Fabia VRS, that has a DSG auto gearbox, 2011 model and completely standard.

We have noticed that during day to day driving there is sometimes a time delay between pressing the throttle and the car reacting. This delay varies in time (sometimes it doesn't happen at all) and results in the car lurching forward when "it realises what you want it to do". Please can you advise if there is any solution to this issue, and if you can help?

Welcome.

It could be just how they are, you might need someone that knows the cars to try yours to see, or you try another twincharger.

There can be a delay so you need to know if just the normal one or a problem.

Delay as your foot goes from brake to accelerator and is 'Hill Hold Assist' actuated by how hard you were on the brake pedal.

Try it in 'D' with the handbrake holding you and no foot on the brake and let off the handbrake and see if it is the same.

Try the difference with the shifter in 'D' or in 'S' with the RPM higher, or in manual 'S'.

Try 'TC' off.

So do you know the cars history, do you know if Service Campaign '34F7' was done.?

The Synthetic Oil changed to mineral and a software update.

There should be a sticker in the spare tyre well if done.

?

So how many miles has the car done and how long have you had it?

Do you have the Service & Warranty / Service Campaign history that Skoda have on their system?

Okay... All great questions - I'll have to investigate the answers! Thanks, be back later with more information, hopefully.

Change gears using the steering wheel stalks, The automatic gear changes aren't the best. Are you planting the foot straight to the floor? Isn't always needed the best way to launch.
