Ac noise

Featured Replies

So im picking up my new fabia estate tomorrow but last week as I was test driving I noticed a whirring sound. I discovered it was the ac and once off the noise disappeared.

I mentioned it to the dealer and got him to listen with me in the car and he did admit there was a slight sound so he got the technicians to look at it. They apparently said that the noise is normal and there were no faults.

I don't know what to think of this as if it was normal it would happen in every car... Right?

I'm also thinking that it could be that the car is brand new and after a constant use it may sort itself out.

What do you think? Has anyone else h had this problem?

James

Clasic noise, nothing unusual.

Occasional like boubles through pipes under dash is also present when using ac. Do not wory. Until it delivers cold air everything is ok.

Does it sound like this video? Mine does this... dealer told me to let it progress and 1-2 on here said its a normal thing. Works perfectly fine, super cold air just a bit noisy outside the car.

Yes I think it does sound like that. I never went out the car when ac was on so i don't know if it was as loud as that.

It's not a big distraction but I could hear that faint noise when driving on motorway at high speed. It's just something that I don't really want when I'm spending a lot of money on new car.

So does the noise go away in time or is there a fix?

Well, I've had the car about 4 months now, its a 65 plate and its done about 30k... so doubt its time related, unless the noise lessens some amount of time after refrigerant refill (dealer refilled before I picked up).

You can hear mine at idle in the cabin if there is no stereo on and its quiet outside. Other than that, with stereo on low or when moving its pretty much indistinguishable from background noise. I find it much less annoying than my car deciding when it wants to unlock all doors and just the drivers one
