1.2 TSI 86bhp chain

Featured Replies

Considering buying a second hand Skoda Rapid from 2015 with 1.2 TSI 86bhp Green Tec with 40.000 miles. After reading many horror stories about failing chains was wondering if such problems might still occur for engines made in 2015. Most of reports of failing chains come from 2010-2013.

I often find personally, yes there are manufacturers defects, but more often than not, the human element cannot be taken out of certain things.

Be preventative with maintenance, keep on top of any service schedule, treat the car well and it will look after you.

Allow these engines a few minutes to circulate oil before taking off and no hard driving until optimum operating temperature.

Thats all really, as for a 2015 car i'd imagine these issues are not so common as they once were.
