Monte 1.2 tsi has flashed an oil light. I’ll check it when cold. What oil to top up with if it needs a bit?

Yellow or red light? Been serviced recently?

When was it last checked?

 

Check when cold and top up.

But then check again when at Operating temperature and top up if required as per the Owners Manual.

 

Yellow oil can low oil, Red Oil can low oil pressure.

 

VW 504 / 507 spec so 5w 30 Full Synthetic long life is the recommended oil for fixed and variable servicing, so that would be it, 

unless it has been getting serviced with VW502 00 so 5w 40 FS.   But if it has been topping up with 5w 30 FS LL will be fine.
