Interior blower fan noise !

Featured Replies

Hi All, We have a 2014 Rapid Spaceback  TDi, this morning my wife took it out and said there was a noise coming from the heating blower, thinking it would be a leaf I said I would have a quick look, removed the filter in the passenger footwell and turned the fan on to blow any leaves out and I could hear something catching on the fan then it went louder and it actually jammed the fan blades and motor ! I removed  the small piece of trim underneath the glovebox and put the heating a recirculate and using a mirror I could see inside the fan housing via the flap and there was a 4 inch domed plastic jamming the blades ! After taking out the glovebox and removing the motor I found this piece of plastic was out of the centre of the fan blades, I refixed it back on the shaft by using some superglue and activator which hopefully will hold it in place ! see pic   cheers Stuart
