Hi

 

My Sat Nav has been a bit hit or miss recently, occasionally I get the following message up on screen:

 

'error accessing navigation data'

 

Consequently, I cannot get directions to a given location but the map on screen shows my current position.

 

I'm wondering has anyone had any similar issues and most importantly have any idea how to fix it?

 

It's a genuine SD card which I've had since new, I updated it last year and.its been fine since then.

Remove the SD card and clean the contacts with a tissue.

Tried that earlier but to no avail. Been using Waze navigation app in the meantime 😑

Okay, save the card details and reformat (full format, not a quick one) then reload the data. If that doesn't help then next option is a different card.

 

I presume you've tried swapping the card to the other SD slot?

Will give the formatting a whirl tomorrow when I'm back home. Currently in the Midlands on a half term break, driving blind without sat nav,  couldn't imagine using a real map like my forefathers did 🤣

Yeah, same message appearing 😥 hopefully it's just a formatting error

Strangely, it worked fine this morning getting us through the A and B road and back up the M6 so I've decided against reformatting etc. 

I've already downloaded the most recent maps onto my Mac but yet to transfer them across, will probably do it tomorrow to contain my excitement before the Champions League final
