skoda octavia scout

Featured Replies

Skoda Octavia Scout 2007 2.0 d 8v with 136,967 miles in metallic blue.

Full service history, had cambelt replaced 2 yrs ago. In good overall condition with some small scuffs on bumpers and stone chips on front end, to be expected with age and mileage. Interior is in good condition with no rips or burns. Genuine Skoda car mats and boot liner. Drives very well, four wheel drive worked well in the snow. Recent four new tyres and lower front suspension arms.

Has just had full service, new front discs and pads and 12 mths MOT April 2019, ready for sale.

Since MOT it has not been used due to new car, went to move it the other day and sounded like exhaust is blowing, it has been checked by the garage, but no leak found. I do not wish to spend any more money investigating this hence the price. It still drives fine, but sounds like exhaust is blowing.  Bargain for someone with a bit of 'know how' at £2500 ono.

The 2.0 pd is 16v and uses siemens injectors, as opposed the 1.9 pd which is 8v and uses bosch injectors.

The 2.0 BMM engine is 8v, whereas the 2.0 BKD engine is 16v.

There's more info about VAG 2 litre diesels here, although some of it is a little confusing as it isn't clear which motors are fitted to which marques.

And, for the ultimate geekfest of specifications, there's Wikipedia's magnum opus on VW Group diesel engines.  Look for "2.0 R4 8v TDI PD 47-103kW" for the BMM and "2.0 R4 16v TDI PD 103-125 kW" for the BKD.

There is a suggestion BTW that both Bosch and Siemens injectors were fitted with these engines, but it wasn't clear to me which was which.

just a quick update had the skoda looked at saturday by a friend of a friend who is a mechanic and he has found the exhaust blow its on the egr valve gasket.

only problem is access but at least i now know what it is

  • Author

hi the break in the egr gasket has been repaired with some exhaust repair paste . now i know this is not to everyones standard but with time and cost it was the best option for me. it now sounds great the rocker cover gasket was leaking so this is getting done at the weekend

I had a look at @mgt 396's scout and other than these two issues just mentioned it was in excellent condition so if he's getting them sorted it's a v. good deal for anyone looking and i would be v. interested if I was still in the market for one

Does this have a DPF?

... my 08 plate one did so I would assume it does have a DPF.
