New order

Featured Replies

Orders a new Karoq and build week is still TBC. Spoke to the dealer and they said:

This is because the factory are preparing for the model year change. In practical terms it means your vehicle will be the latest updated version.

The two updates will be the Skoda badge will be replaced with the word Skoda across the rear of the vehicle, as per the new Skoda Scala, and you get a larger SD card for sat nav data storage, allowing you to hold a larger map database at any given time: up from 16GB to 32GB

Just hope we don't have to wait until September. We were quoted a lead time of 10 weeks based on current delivery rates.

10 weeks is only a week short of September anyway.

True. But we are planning a holiday for September and are hoping for the car plus we were told 10 weeks 2 weeks ago so that only leaves 8.

And about time too, scandalous how cheapskate Skoda have been with supplying maps on 16gb cards when you now can't put the whole of Europe on and have to choose a compromise.

Out of curiosity which engine and gearbox did you go for?

1.5 petrol manual

In MY20 the Blind spot monitoring system is also improved.

I think blind spot monitoring is an extra?

For me it was, yes.

Here's hoping your MY20 Karoq doesn't suffer from the kangarooing and losing power in second gear issues some others have had.

Fingers crossed! I see lots of complaints but no one ever speaks up when there isn't a problem, they just sit quietly at the sideline.

May I suggest you ask your dealer for the summer factory shutdown dates, it can vary between factories in different countries.

Usually from end of June into July or during July.  They ought to know which factory builds Karoqs.

Generally there is a 3 week shutdown, (2 full weeks, plus a few days of new equipment familiarisation)

Clearly orders wait during this period and then takes a few weeks to catch up

My hunch is your dealer isn't being 100% pro-active here, either it will get built before the shutdown (which might be to old spec), or will be after the shutdown, in which case will arrive about month later, and some people don't like taking delivery in August because they want the new registration from 1st September.

What date was the order accepted by the factory (the dealer should be able to advise that as well)

I'll check what date the order was accepted.

We queries when the shutdown happens and just got June or July for a few weeks as a response.

Not really bothered about taking delivery in August. The letters and numbers on the registration plate don't bother us. Pretty sure it will be built after the shut down as we've already been told our car will have new features.

If you have an order number from the dealer you can always contact Skoda UK to see if they can assist regarding when a build date might be.
