Puddle fail

Featured Replies

Yesterday I drove through a long puddle due to the heavy rain and a few miles later the error message about no bending light (ASR) came up.

Today I also have yellow triangles for ABS and ESP illuminated with corresponding message on the maxidot.  The errors are there most of the time, but don't come back straight away upon restarting the car (2.0 TDI).

I'm hoping it's due to wet sensors that will dry out.

Any thoughts??  How long should I allow before involving a garage if it does not resolve?

Thanks,

You don't say how old your car is but in older Octys there have been quite a number of reports of connectors going intermittent or failing due to aging and/or corrosion, so I'd be inclined to dose the suspect areas with something like Electrolube and a waggle to start with.

Given that sensors based around the wheel area are designed to cope with some pretty extreme conditions I wouldn't have expected an "early bath" to have put them out of action quite so easily.
