Seats MK11 and MK111?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know if the leather seats on MK11 and MK111 Elegance, Style/SEL are the same?

@BriskodaJeff is likely to know this.

They are different. I had a Mk.II then Mk.III, both with heated/ventilated leather seats.

The Mk.II seat had a steel support bar towards the back of the seat which caused me discomfort on longer journeys. After 4 years the side bolster on the Mk.II seat had worn through.

I've had the Mk.III for almost the same amount of time as the Mk.II and there is no discomfort nor is there any sign of wear on the bolsters.

Agreed. The leather seats on my Mk2 Greenline were not the same as in my current Mk3 L&K. Ironically though, unlike @BillyJim I found the Mk2 seats to be very comfortable once I'd found the right position and I don't remember a great difference between either the leather or alcantara in my two Mk2 Superbs and the current Mk3. No adverse wear either.

The one thing they all have in common for me is that it takes ages (weeks/ months in my case) to refine the seating position so it's perfect.

As a matter of interest @kindalen, why do you ask? Were you planning a  switch-out?

I think Nick is highlighting my inability to remember the experiences of other forum members and then tag them.

Was half thinking of swapping rear heated seats to newer car if/when I change, as they have very little wear.

Ok - understood. I'm pretty sure that would not be a straight swap as (anecdotal only - I haven't measured it) the Mk3 interior is wider than the Mk2, so the rear bench wouldn't fit. That would mean putting the heater elements from the Mk2 into the new bench. I don't know if that is even possible, or if non-heated seats use the same foam as heated etc. And it would need wiring in. Way above my technical knowledge level I'm afraid. Sorry, and good luck if you decide to try it.

Am tempted to buy a SE Technology with leather, but non heated seats. If I do I will fit heated seats myself. Have read a few threads where people have added after market ones to their Skodas.
