Skoda connect working?

Featured Replies

Skoda connect doesn’t appear to be working for the last couple of days, suspiciously about the time my app updated.

I can’t seem to connect online either?

Anyone else having issues?

Mine was working yesterday evening when I was playing around with some settings

Not had any problems with mine.

Sorted it out.

Had to delete IPhone app and download it from the cloud.

Well done to the app developers another resounding success?

What are you guys using Skoda Connect for, to warrant being in it on a daily basis?

After first using it when I got the car and amusing myself by scaring the wife with the 'honk horn' feature, I don't think I've been in it since.

Not had mine from 3rd June. Awaiting factory response. Connect says "error" or "not in service". Tried everything except factory reset. Customer services don't seem to have a connect guru.

Silver - mainly live traffic, send online destination to car (already cost me a ticket!), and the now defunct Google earth.

I can use it to see the miles I’ve done per journey for work purposes (I also keep a paper log)

Send to car can also be useful.

Also I can check it’s locked when having a senior moment......

Only just got the car so still working it out. I think my wife will use it to reassure herself that she actual locked the car!

Have they removed Google earth from the nav?  Is that why I can't find it in the options despite seeing a video about it on the website??

I stopped using that when it told me the car was unlocked, I walked a long way back to the car to lock it, to find it was actually locked. Volvo do it so much better - the app sends a reminder to your phone if you’ve left it unlocked, and then gives you the option to lock it from your phone. (I know the newer Kodiaqs will allow you to lock from the phone, but mine is a 2018 model and you can’t. Which is annoying)

Sounds like a good thing to send a door unlocked reminder, well done Volvo

I can lock / unlock my 2019 model but you have to get ID verified at the dealer first which took a bit of sorting out, I suppose its a security thing to stop anyone doing it.

If they haven't yet, they will be soon. I'd read that VAG are withdrawing access to Google Earth at some point next year.

From an Audi forum...

"Audi vehicles were initially manufactured to support Google Earth, but Google has since created a new software update in which the hardware in older vehicles will no longer be compatible with. Audi has taken steps to manufacture hardware that is compatible with the new software in MY19 and newer vehicles, but MY18 and older will no longer be able to use the Google Earth functionality as of December 31, 2020."

Silver, yes customer services said it was withdrawn. I'm expecting as much discount as I am a clear and concise answer. Every assistance but help.

No doubt it's covered in Skoda's T&C's when you signed for the car etc. about reserving the right to change the specifications at any time, without notice.

I'd imagine this will annoy quite a few people who are currently enjoying Google Earth though, I tried it on ours and it was brilliant when the navigation was routing you through the streets but in Google Earth view!

And they charge how much to renew this claptrap?????

My 2019 Kodiaq doesn`t have Google Earth.

About Skoda Connect: on welcome scren you can see the time since the last refresh. You can always refresh the app manually from doors/lights section to make sure the car status is latest.

Thought it was because my subscription ran out but the iPhone app kept failing to load yesterday.  I had a email asking me to log in and update info recently I thought maybe it’s was going to be for free ..... like it should be

In the car Connect has said "error" from day one; I'm not even sure what is supposed to happen if it does indeed manage to connect?

That's using the data sim in the car; I haven't yet hooked the car upto the house wifi.

The app, however, does seem to know my mileage, journey history etc so something somewhere is talking to each other.

Have you registered on the connect website?

What you see in the app is from the inbuilt sim eg servicing sos etc.

Once registered you have to activate the other connect services.

There are some useful videos on the skoda website.

Yeah, still "error" on the infotainment system but the little globe icon is mostly white (and my app knows what I've been upto).

Thankfully, the whole thing is a "nice to have" rather than a "must have" so I'm not overly bothered.

I certainly wouldn't be paying Skoda for it in it's current state; it most definitely is *not* fit for purpose.

It seems to be down today.
