Hi does anyone no what oil goes in the 5speed manual box.

 

Thinking about changing it thanks.

I bought mine from TPS it was cheaper than ECP/GSF at the time and you knew it was the proper stuff

A think al just pay a visit to TPS.

Be careful.....

Do not use the folling hole on the side like most gears have.

I have the JCR and you have to insert the gear oil thrue the revers switch.

This is the only way to put 1.7 liter of oil.

And from the fil hole you can insert just 0.5 liter so i leaves the higher gears un luubed. So beware.

There are 2 different oils as far as I remember when I did mine. A synthetic and a mineral. General consensus was mineral for 5 speed box and synthetic for 6 speed box. They are both the same spec.

 

Theres a date/code number on the bottom of the bell housing that Skoda tech dept can use to verify what oil it should be.
