2011 FL > MFSW?

Could it be that my Octavia is missing a wire to the BCM?

Unlikely, the MFSW button presses are sent via LIN to the steering controller and then via CAN-bus. The BCM isn't involved...

As you can see the MFSW buttons as a subsystem of the steering controller, they are obviously communicating. Have you tried using the measuring blocks in the steering controller to check it knows the buttons are being pressed?

There is a chance you might also need Audi MFSW buttons to work with the Audi software in the steering controller 😕

@langers2k hmmm bummer... so I will be buying yet another slipring.

Quick question, does it need to be a slipring with a Steering Angle Sensor? Or can I buy onze without that?

5K0-953-569-E (like you have?)

5K0-953-569-AH

Btw, the new stalks are working and I change the emblem, will add a picture soon.

You will be in exactly the same situation with any module you buy unless you can confirm that it has come of a skoda or vw

don't worry about the steering angle sensor

You might be better in trying to find someone who can flash the module to make it work

https://www.vcds-coding.nl/

register on erwin, you can download file from there

@Eddie-NL So I need to find someone with VAS/ ODIS to flash the module with the following file: FL_5K0953521J_136.frf

Or can I use one of the newer Volkswagen software files? The original module (C) software version is 140, but I cannot download that, are other versions compatible?

I contacted the website you mentioned but they tell me they don't flash these modules, so I have to find someone else.

Or can I buy a compatible ODIS-E cable/adapter 😬?

It is worth trying

ODIS or VCP should be able to flash it

Thanks Eddie-NL, sorry did not have time to respond ;).

Ordered a cheap VCP cable to flash the module. Will update in a few weeks, fingers crossed!

Hope to give it a go this weekend.

Received the VCP cable (v5.5.1) and waiting for my NOCO G7200 charger to supply my car with a constant 13.5v.

Already needed a new charger for my motorcycle so I chose one with extra features :).

Today I connected the cable and tried to program/recode the module. I openend VCP, selected Module 16 and connected to it after selecting SK35X Skoda Octavia II/YETI ASAM.
Sadly enough the module did not except the following longcode: 1084240000. It did however accept 108024000, the coding without the MFSW activated. (Code was copied from VCDS)

Will let you know what happens next.
