Slow idle on my Favorit

Featured Replies

Hi i've just picked up the skoda as an in between car as i have a new one on the way. Its a 1991 J plate Favorit 1.3, and it only has 16,000 miles on the clock which are all genuine as i know the 93 year old guy i bought it off.

He used it for the odd trip to town and in the last year it has only done 200 miles!!!

The problem i have is it seems to idle very slow. It starts first time on the button every morning and sits nicely on the auto choke, but as soon as the choke is off it runs at very low revs as low as 300 rpm and judders.

Is there an easy fix to this? eg adjust a fast idle screw or tighten accelerator cable?

Please help!!!!

Ps the car will be for sale in a few weeks if anyone is interested its immaculate!

theres a idle adjust screw near where the outer sleeve of the accelerator cable is held. also worth checking plugs and leads etc.

Where is the car? and what model name is it forum? LX, LS? Has it got a sunroof?
