Was hoping to have a zero miles Superb yesterday.

Unfortunately it didn't do what I expected.

All the figures moved to the right to allow the 1 to appear.

Wonder if they move again when it gets to 1000000?

I guess the phase "it's been round the clock" doesn't mean so much any more.

You've got some way to go yet. I really wanted to get mine to 200K but sold it recently at 165K.

Aye, I'm guessing it's probably run in now.  The problem is at 11 years old it probably won't get the opportunity to do the miles it could, take about 5 years to get to 200k at my current rate.

I'm hoping to get another 2-3 years out of it as I've paid for the servicing which will cover that period (DSG oil, timing belt, tyres) and I'd like to get the value from tha.  I've also recently had front wheel bearings and brake pads on it so again would like to see a decent return.  I told my wife we'll be keeping  it until it fails and I'm hoping for two years, she seemed OK with that but horrified when I said "Who know's, it may be 10 years.  Or more".  Still don't think  she's come to terms with the Skoda badge.

Mines 5 this year and is on 125k. It's almost certainly going to be with me for 3 more years which should get me around 200k.

My old mk5 golf was on 225k when we got rid of it - such a machine!! That 1.9 PD engine was a dream, if a little agricultural compared to the lovely 1.6 cr

How many front wheel bearings have you gone through or did again mean pads ?

How did that happen?

I changed both front  wheel bearings last year (about September IIRC).  Only one was noisy but thought may as well do both while I was at it.

?????

I just kept driving and it went up to 99999 then 100000.

No I know that as is shows it’s gone round the clock so each time it would go to 2 then 3 etc.

How did you get it to 999999 in the first place?

Were you trying to flash the chip to change the mileage or has it done that mileage?

Erm, it's 99,999 not 999,999 and I expect they got there by driving 99,999 miles ;)

😂 I thought the other 9 was hidden by the edge of the plastic Doh 😂 and was trying to change the mileage with a VAG K Can unit and messed it up.

From 100,000 miles to its current 192,000 miles, the only repairs my Superb needed was a rear anti-roll bar and four new shocks. It’s still on its original rear pads and discs. I’ve only changed the rear tyres once from new.

Oh, and my partially faulty Columbus magically repaired itself somehow at approx 140,000 miles.

What a car!

I don't understand why you would think it would go back to zero on a digital display. We aren't talking a 90's ford here where they didn't anticipate any of their cars making it to 100K so never put the extra digit in :D

"I guess its run in now"....................

Not even close!

My last 1.9TDi used a miniscule amount of oil between extended services, would need one top up at say 15K + miles, when it got to 225000 miles the oil consumption stopped, I considered it bedded in.

Not even close!!

At 325000 miles the honing marks were still visible in the bores.

Well the reason I thought it may go back to zero was that the 5th digit was hard up against the left of the display hence no room for an extra one. Obviously e erything moved to the right.

I'm not completely surprised, it was going to go one way or the other and frankly I don't think you need to sound so condescending. I only meant it as a bit of a joke.

Sorry, didn’t mean it to sound that way.

I must use more laughing emojis next time to lighten the tone.
