visited the nurburg ring over the weekend

Featured Replies

all,

as the title suggests I spent the weekend at the famous nurburg ring in germany. amazing place for those of you who have only seen it on top gear. was pretty wet on saturday afternoon hence plenty of accidents including a dodge viper, ferrari 355, GT3, Z4M, R32 evo magazine driven I think. went out there with the evo technik forum, my cousin is a member.....met up at maidstone services on the M20 at 6.30 on friday morning, onto the tunnel then a cannonball run into emergency....with some crazy driving from certain people.......

was wondering whether we could arrange a group from the forum to go over there.......I'm sure some of our cars would surprise people out there......did see 1 VRS on english plates out there doing laps.....

cheers

didn't happen to see any of my puma mates over there did ya?

This years Briskoda Ring trip is (I believe) already being planned

I am going to be in the area during the easter weekend.

The vRS with english plates, what colour was it. I think I know who it was, he is a member on here.

I might see you there. I plan on being there over the Easter weekend.

Monk, I will definately be there on Sunday for the whole day. On Friday PM and Saturday we plan to be doing touristy things around Bonn. Look out for a tired looking, british, Dark Red Ford Mondeo GhiaX Auto which currently has 242,000kms on the clock.

Got it......Sunday, I should be there.

242,000kms, Impressive.

I would recomend a visit to the ring for anyone who loves cars or motorsport history.... having now done a few laps in wet conditions...i,e gently as various people with very little driving ability but large cash flows with flying out the circuit all the time....

why buy a 300bhp plus car if you dont know how to drive it properly.... 12.9 miles of heaven....it sounds like along way but it goes so quickley...

definately up for going back there either later this year or next...it's got to be done. Ihoping to post some pictures of various exotic cars & smashes later this week.

cheers

LOL! You must have missed the ;) at the end of my post.

I have been know to go to the Ring, my old Octy did over 700 laps there and the current Octy has done about 60 laps.

As to whether they are any good, my best BTG with the old one (with T13 closed!) was 8'32" :D The new one can only do 8'51" :( but then, it is a diesel :D

I will be over there in June, running in a new car after a factory collection  , I'm there again at the beginning of July (assuming our illustrious leader extracts his digit :D ) and I'm going in August too - might hire a Smart from Cologne airport so the Fabias have someone to play with
