Just checking Code 17586

Featured Replies

After months of code free travel but some irritation from the passenger door lock a 'check engine light' came on for a while today and went off again later. BBZ engine and it does have a lambda probe in the manifold. Code says 'linear O2 sensor' which seems to indicate the pre-cat lambda sensor from a quick web search. (Car going fine as usual!)

Anyone had this? Common problem? Likely the wiring or the sensor itself?

Yes, that's correct, I had to replace mine for the MOT recently, same fault code.

Would be very sad to buy a new sensor and then discover a broken wire while fitting it, so I'd say have a damn good look at the mating connector and its flimsy wiring before ordering anything.
