Brake woes!

Featured Replies

£35 and jobs a good'un - brakes have never been so good!

The new version doesn't seem to need a jubilee clip at the crank end, fits snugly. The cylinder end was a bigger to get in - but a bit of grease and it popped straight in after knackering my thumb's first!

Now think it brakes sharper than my 17 plate Leon!

Cheers fellas!

Out of interest, I’d like to check the brake servo pipe on my 1.4 petrol.

Can any give me a description/photo of where it’s located?

One end is attached to the brake servo, the other to the inlet manifold.

I don’t know where they are 😩

The brake servo is behind the brake fluid reservoir, a big round drum, just follow the pipe from it to the inlet manifold.

Think I’ve found it thanks.

was kind of hoping that the ends would be split, would explain some stuff.

however there was one very slight split that I could see on the end, I’ve attached a photo. It’s not very clear, and I will try gaffa tape around it. Is this likely to make a huge difference?

Have you checked the bottom of it? That's where they often seem to split just out of sight.

I’ve had a feel, but there doesn’t feel anything as “dramatic” as some of the photos on this thread.

i tried getting my phone in, but couldn’t angle it for a decent shot

You need to check every joint in that pipe by giving each one a good tug, if the pipe is intact it won't come off, any splits you find will leak and need fixing.

We don't need pictures, we need action!
