Autoglym Wheel Cleaner

Featured Replies

Hi all, I usually use Autoglym alloy wheel cleaner on my car as it was an easy spray on wipe off and made brake dust an easy rinse off.

But I see they appear to have discontinued the product, and replaced it with something that require spraying on, wiping overspill off tyres as it will stain them, and leaving 90 mins to dry with no buffing.

Seems a backward step !

Was I incorrectly using the old stuff ? I am not sure but it worked well enough the way I did it and didn't stain tyres !

So any advice for a simple spray on wipe off that is effective at keeping brake dust from sticking, or will any QD be as good as the old AG stuff ?

The Autoglym clean wheels was good but not PH neutral so could lead to corrosion.  I've therefore been using the Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels or the Wonder Wheels Colour for a while now - both PH neutral and both have come top in Auto Express tests.

Hi guys, thanks for replying.

It wasn't the clean wheels I used, it was called "alloy wheel seal" which seems to have been replaced with "wheel protector" which is not the wipe on/wipe off I liked.

I didn't explain myself properly, sorry!

Its more the after clean "barrier" I want as I use Bilberry wheel cleaner to actually clean, and used to use the AG wheel seal after cleaning.

I am guessing any of the waxes or QD's I use on the body will suffice now my "go to" product is no more.
