New car, new member. Some questions!

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I'm now a proud owner of a black 2019 Superb 190 Tdi Sportline, and I love it so far. I'll be happy to share som pictures later when I get home from my vacation, but first let me try some questions for you all:

1: Is there no way to adjust the brightness of  the digital virtual cockpit? Really tried with everything I could find in the infotainment  settings, whithout success. I feel it's often way too bright and needs dimming down. This is usually very easy to adjust in other cars.

2. If you open the drivers door with the engine running, there are six loud beeps warning you that the engine is running...

Any way to make this go away or chill down radically? Jesus, I know the engine is running. One silent pling or two would have been perfectly fine, but this is way to loud and too much.

Was driving at night with the family sleeping in the car, stopping to get something from the back seat... BING! BING! BING! BING! BING! BING! Wife not happy.

I hope someone knows something about this.

I'll be back with some pictures and probably some more questions!

Have a nice day!

/Mats

Welcome to the forum. You can adjust the brightness of the virtual cockpit by going CAR > SETTINGS LIGHTS. With the beeping, you can only disable this via VCDS or OBDeleven. I am sure that if you ask on a Swedish Skoda forum, there'll be someone that can do it for you.

Hi and welcome. Glad to hear that you're enjoying it.

With regards to the beeping, are you leaving the car in "drive" when you get out? That's if it's DSG of course!

That sounds funny😁. No, I'm not leaving it in "drive". If the car gave me six loud beeps for doing that, I would forgive it.

If you open the drivers door with the engine on (I think even only the ignition) it will give you the beeps and a message saying something like "warning, motor (or ignition) is on".

ZacDaMan, thanks.

I have been fiddling with that setting before, but for some reason it didn't really work. Now it did, although not perfectly imo. You cannot dim only the digital cockpit, the instrument buttons comes along as well, and you cannot dim it enough for my taste. But well, it will do. I can choose a dark theme for my late drives.

You left it in neutral? My 2016 does it in neutral but not park. No bings in park

No, "P". Beep comes with engine on and ignition on. Only difference is the warning-text in the display.

Hey Matt

That is an annoying trait, if you drive somewhere or even fire the engine up and stop and put it into park and then get out it assumes you have finished your journey and will remind you the ignition is on ....

Coding it out is the only way I know to suppress it .....

Ok, thanks. I'll look into that. No one else bothered by this?🤔

The beeping is strange indeed. I have an MY19 October 2018 built car. It does not beep at me unless I've left it in drive or neutral and opened the door. For example, taking the car out of the garage, pop it in park (handbrake on or off) and jump out to close the garage door. It's silent as long as it's in park. I'm confused 🤣

My superb is coming any day now, I'll let you know if mine does the same... If its a Swedish thing 😛
