Remove air intake hose

Featured Replies

Hi

I need to remove the air intake. How do I get this clip off in the photo? I assume its this one I need to move. Is it easy to get back on after?

There a special tool you can buy that makes removal of the clips easier but you can also do it without if you got some wide adjustable pliers.  You just squeeze the clip to together move clip to the side slightly and pull the pipe out but don't remove the clip from the plastic pipe as it can be a pig to get back on.

Depends on why you need to remove the intake pipe?

To spray EGR valve cleaner into the air intake.

Do you know the name of the tool to remove this clip?

But by squirting it in there it’s going around the turbo, through all the pipe work and intercooler before getting anywhere near the EGR valve.

Surely better off squirting it into the intake on the manifold/throttle body?

Take it that's the big pipe at the bottom with just a normal jubilee clip?

What engine do you have?
