Contact don't show on incoming calls...

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

Just bought a used 2018 Karoq and I love it.

I'm getting used to my new spaceship (moved from a Chevi Spark...), and my current challenge is this:

When I'm getting an incoming call, I see only the number, not the contact name. No matter if the contact is a device contact or a gmail one, the car can't read it.

I can find them when making a call, but that's it...

Now, I was told that the problem might be that I have more than 2000 contacts.. Is that true?

If it is - did anyone manage to find a way around it without going through my 4700 contacts and deleting more than half.....?

Thanks a lot!

Welcome Henrey182.

Apologies if you've already done the following.

When you pair an Android phone the prone the phone will ask if you want to allow access to or export contacts to the car, the message does not pop up for long so could have been missed easily.  Depending on the Android version you may also have to tick remember setting or something like that. As for Apple devices I have no clue. I'm not aware of a limit on contacts but I would guess that there would be one but again I have no idea what that limit is.

Thank you!

I tried unpairing and pairing again (Android), and I waited for the popup asking me about access to contacts. After I allowed it, it still didn't recognize an incoming call from an existing contact 😕

Sorry I could not help more.

One thing I forgot to mention is that you need to keep the phone screen alive (keep a finger on it and move it about a tad before it goes to sleep) when pairing and the notification may only pop up in the notification bar at the top of the phone screen that you need to acknowledge. I guess you've already done this though so apologies if you've already tried it.

Can you let us know the make, model and operating system version? Maybe others have more experience with different phones and OS versions. I'v been using a Samsung phone over the years so cannot comment on others.

Good luck.
