Rapid strut brace/anti roll bar

Featured Replies

Hello,

Looking for some advice, I have a 14 rapid spaceback greenline, car is great overall, only lacks when it comes to pace (considering a stage 1 map) and in the corners (don't drive it crazy but I live down a very windy country road). Was wondering what strut braces would fit it, I'm guessing something from the octavia will fit but struggle to find any info about it.

More Fabia than Octavia.

Is it a strut brace you're after or a rear anti roll bar?

Guess I would happily fit both, so is it fabia ones I need to order?

Lowering springs are a good start. Many on here fitted Eibachs when the Rapid was young. They do 2 different spring rates ( the 1.4 and 1.6 cars are much heavier than 1.0 / 1.2 ) giving a 30mm drop and reportedly much better handling whilst not changing the ride much.

Google skoda-tuning.de for modification parts.

Demon Tweeks list (in English) ARB and strut braces for Rapids. Easier than looking for Fahrwerk on German sites.

I've put all my vehicle details in (Spaceback, 2014, 1.2 TSI 85) and Demontweeks apparently has nothing that fits the vehicle.

Did you just put details for a normal Rapid?

Agree I cant find it either now.

Eibach online catalogue do a low spring set (-30mm) specifically for your Rapid which should achieve the handling improvement you want quite cheaply.

Don't buy the springs for the 1.4/1.6 Rapid because they're so much heavier on the front.

Possibly a better solution than a strut brace.

I hate the way you can feel the body twisting in bumpy corners. It has little torsional rigidity at all. Getting the whole thing lower has had the best feedback here in the past.

I rang up Demontweeks who said they don't stock them for the Rapids anymore. Shame really. Darkside Developments will get some in stock "soon" (however long that is) for £95 ex VAT

I'm hesitant to lower mine as it goes off road quite a bit down forest tracks, so wouldn't want to risk it scraping/bottoming out.
