Been To Dealers!

Featured Replies

So, had my new SL+ for 3 weeks which is 1.5tsi which I opted for, heart said 272 but head said 1.5, reason, I use my car for business, anyway, apart from a slight Kangarooing momentarily from cold which seems to be a trait of this engine I have a click sound when reversing from standstill. Been into dealers and initially they were not interested (silly me as I had forgotten how bad Skoda service is, just came back from Ford)

Anyway, I described the issue and they reckon it's coming from offside front brake calipers, if you brake on going forward and stop then engage reverse then move there is a click! So, had the car back for a day and still doing it, tech bloke at dealers said bring back within 500 more miles if still apparent, which it is, and they will have another look. I'm a bit cheesed off as the car is pretty damn good and this just takes the edge off a bit......

So, question time, anybody else with a fairly new/ish MK3 Superb or not maybe had this issue, and if so was it the brake assembly?

Long shot but have you checked that all the transportation bump stops are removed?  Lift up the sleeve on the shock and have a look.

Yeh Cheers for the reply, no the blocks have been removed so that rules that one out

A brake pad moving in the caliper?

This can be stopped by using some copper grease at the right points.

The rears on my car did this.

Thanks AG Falco
