Retro Fit Cruise on a 2007 Octavia?

Featured Replies

Just bought an 07 Octavia Ambiente. Very pleased with my purchase, though it doesn't have cruise.

I saw a thread on retro fitting cruise to 2010 onwards cars, though can't see anything for older cars.

Is it possible to retro fit cruise onto an 07 Ambiente, or is it just not viable?

Really chuffed with the car - it's cosmetically challenged but drives great. Am hoping to get many miles out of it. This is my third Skoda having had two Superbs before (including an Edition 100).

very easy on a 2007 car

you just need the stalk, providing your steering controller supports it

Thanks for that Eddie - I'll look into getting it done. If my steering controller doesn't support it - can that be changed to one that does, or is it not as easy as that?

that can be changed, they are very cheap now

Hi, I’m new to thIs place, I had a 2008 focus pior that had no cause control so I got the right steering wheel an airbag, no luck , found it needed coding in the ecu, did it was the best thing I ever did, forward on a few years, I’ve just bought an Octavia mk2 2.0 fsi, love the car so much but. No Cruise Contol, I found a used stalk to fit on eBay £15, I’ve looked on here a bit an it can need programming ? I’m just going to put the stalk on see if it works an then go further if I need too !( I have a odb cable but will be looking for software ? Is there a home brews?like the focuses ?

it will need coding in the steering module and engine

you will need someone with either vcds, vcp or odis

So there’s no program you can download for the Octavia that’ll do that? Looks like I’ll have to go to a vag specialist then 😞

 Edited out would this work?

I've got this on the to do list, albeit quite far down. I think I'll get my local independent VAG specialist to do it. The only thing is that they don't fit customer supplied parts, so I'll pay dealer or TPS prices on the parts.

That's kind of you but I'm a good distance from London. Thank you though.

southend is not that far from the A12/m25 junction

@kirkynut I'd jump at that opportunity as Eddie is the 'go-to' person with regards to all things retrofit and modding!

Dose the stalk need a wire? Some adds show a wire too , but from what I can find a genuine arm fitted an switched on in the ecu will work no extra wire?

I'll look at it when I'm in a position to get it done as time and funds allows both are in short supply at the moment!

Thanks to you both!

possibly, you should have a look for a black and white wire pin 13

if your cars vin is a 2006 model year you shouldn't need it
