Parts Required

Hello, I currently need to replace a few bits on my 2008 vRS and was wondering where and what would be the best for her.

1. Front wishbone bushes - was hoping to go with the PowerFlex anti lift kit for this;

2. 2 front shocks

3. Rear brake pads 

4. Camber Bushings and bolts

 I'd rather consult here for some advice first rather than buy some cheap cr*p stuff that I'll have to end up replacing again quickly so dont mind spending a bit for the performance stuff.

Also, what is the best choice of pads for performance and minimal dust?

I have Pagid disks and pads all round. They have been pretty good for normal, sometimes spirited driving.

I replaced the rear arms with Lemforder parts. They seem to make good quality parts. I put new genuine VW camber bolts in. They were reasonably priced.

For bushes, I think some folk use Audi bushes as they are a bit stiffer.

Not sure about 3rd party shocks we put a full H& R cup kit on that had shocks and lowered springs.

Also fitted a whiteline RARB. That made a massive difference to roll on the corners.

Shocks can recommend bilstein b4 if on a budget and b6 if you are after a performance upgrade.

 

As for front bushes I can highly recommend superpro bushes as they are very well made and mine are still good after 80k

Edit: So I'll need bushes and bolts for the camber? Dont think I need the control arms are the camber bushes just ordinary ones?

Will need the bolts and bushings in the camber as there seized.

for bilstein shocks - check the part number you need for your car on the bilstein website and then source the cheapest on ebay

For VRS it will be sports suspension and 55mm struts for the front

Your camber and bush question are you referring to the rear? as this is no special camber adjustment bolts on the front

Yea I need 2 shocks, rear pads, front bushings which I was gonna put in an anti-lift kit and the canner bushes and bolts as mine are seized

there are two adjusting bolts on the rear one for camber and the other one for toe.  (see pic)

Thanks for the replies, The bushe are seized. Any recommendations for poly bushes? My main problem there is when adjusting the camber we couldnt get it done as the bolts were seized and bushes themselves were more less done. For the front wishbone bushes would be ok to go with the Powerflex anti lift kit? Or anyone any experience with this?

These are the superpro rear toe bushes I'm planning to use as I bought the bushes already but haven't got round to fitting them yet.

Thanks for the reply, so what I need is just the bolts and the toe bushings? Would I need to be replacing anything else? It was just these I couldnt get adjusted as they aere seized and the bushings are worn

For the lower control arm for both sides you just need 2x poly bushes, 2x adjusting bolts and 2x normal outer bolts as vw recommend replacing the bolts each time they are removed as they are stretch bolts.

Thanks man, must start ordering stuff before she wears the tyres on the inside again lol and just to clarify those toe bushes are called poly bushes so when I'm searching I know what I'm looking for.

these are the parts numbers needed for the rear control arm and you might be able to source the bolts cheaper from your local skoda dealer or TPS

No they are different as there are two bolts that secure the lower rear control arm (where the coil spring sits in)

outer normal bolt (although you probably get away with re-using the outer bolt - despite VW advising to be replaced each time)

also just to clarify so that you are getting the right parts that the above part numbers are referring to the toe bushes only.  You will need different parts if you are replacing the rear camber bolt and bushes as well.   Here is a link to the toe bushes so you understand what parts I am referring to.

Thanks again, I'm not very familiar with the backend suspensions of the vRS as you can see🤣 I'm just kinda going by what the mechanic told me as well. Its these bits I circled is what I need, i should've taken a pic tbh lol. The camber bolt and bushings in it.
