Don't get hung up on the hypothetical "standard kit" or the colour of the exhaust trims. Check what's actually fitted to each car - leather, satnav, etc.  If the wheels are different sizes check what the ride's like,  and if they'e manual/DSG see which of those you prefer. And that IS down to personal preference regardless of what anyone says on the forum. MPG differences between the two boxes is negligible, how you drive will affect MPG more than anything. And TBH unless you drive with the intention of getting a ban, a big fine and losing your NCD, or seeing if it'll go through a hedge backwards, then whether its got a LSD or bigger brakes really won't make any difference other than bragging rights.

Then YOU decide which is best for you in terms of colour, equipment, price, mileage, if ride and gearbox choice don't push you in one direction or the other.

95% agree with this. But I disagree on the LSD.

For motorway / city / urban then yeah, the LSD is a waste of time. But I live in Derbyshire and on the odd occasion I get out onto a good country road and have a blast, it makes a huge difference to traction. You can really feel it pull you out of a bend. I'm not a lunatic with it either - always stay within the law & safe limits.

If you see a you tube video comparing a 4 wheel drive Golf R which is a devastating B road car to a Golf GTi with the electronic diff then words like fun crop up a great deal to describe the difference between the 2 cars. A manual Golf GTi is way more fun than a DSG Golf R but if 0-60mph times are the most important criteria when buying a car the 4WD DSG car whether it's a Cupra ST, Superb 280 or Golf R is the most effective way at putting the power down, but crucially is it the MOST FUN. Good quality tyres make a huge difference too as the original P Zero's are useless on a wet road in comparison to Michelin PS4S which need serious provocation to get the traction control light to illuminate.;)

Hmmm my 235 PS4S break traction quite often & what's this traction control milarky you speak of ? Is it the other button by the  Stop/start that I turn off whenever I start the car ?

This is probably why you destroy a pair of tyres in 8,500 miles. TC is your friend not the enemy. Never got the TC light on once in 9 laps round Donington last month so I would seek some driver training Tony if I was you. That poor car of yours it will be happy when you return it.:tongueout:

Possibly 8k outta the front tyres but, never anymore than that & maybe only 7k in summer. Too late to return it, bought it outright in April but, might I trade it for certain Italian if we can negotiate a bit harder

Just out of interest what ballpark figure would you hope to get on the 245 if trading for the Itallion Stallion. £17,500?
