new tyres on vrs

Featured Replies

Get pretty good scores in the tyre test and they are cheap however the load index looks a tad low, I'd have thought you needed a 91 rather than an 83. They will have very soft sidewalls which won't be so good with the weight of the deisel lump.

As for putting them on just the rear.... what's the chorus of that song by Dead or Alive? Oh yeah:

You spin me right ‘round, baby

Right ‘round like a record, baby

Right ‘round, ‘round, ‘round,

You spin me right ‘round, baby

Right ‘round like a record, baby

Right ‘round, ‘round, ‘round

would it make a difference that these tyres are going on the back. im putting something with a bit more grip on the front:thumbup:

Not as much weight, but you'll still get quite a bit of sidewall deflection, IMHO. I wouldn't do it on mine, if that's any help.

I had to put one of these on as that was all the depot had at the time.

They are fine for the money.

they are 'v' rated, you need 'w' rated tyres....... you will have warranty and insurance issues if you put 'v's on it ........

edit: I'm having new tyres on in the morning, my tyre place couldn't find any fulda's, conti's, toyo's, or perelli p nero's (*sigh...) no stock from the suppliers! so I'm having some more goodyear F1's on....

Certainly will! Grippiest tyres need to go on the back or you'll risk a spin which is very easy to get caught out by. Less grippy tyres on the front might mean more understeer but its far easier to control.

i've put 'ZR' spec dunlops on the front of mine , are they better or worse than 'WR' spec tyres ?

yeah 'z' is ok, as its a higher speed rating than 'w' just mustn't be below... i.e a 'v'...
