Distribution Belt tensioner issue 150 bhp TDI

Featured Replies

Heads up:

Brought my 2017 car in for service 7 days before end of warranty. Mentioned a rattle from the engine i heard maybe 2 times in 9 months.

There is a known issue with the tensioner of the distribution belt. Will al be replaced under warranty.

Like your other gearbox issue that you say is known, was it the dealership staff that told you it was known, and covered by a TPI?

?

Did you not ask then if they are asking for this to be covered under the manufacturers warranty in the warranty period as reported in that time?

Its all covered by manufacturers warranty. No costs for me. Just a heads up for other guys with the same engine/gearbox.

when you say distribution belt tensioner,

do you mean timing belt tensioner or alternator belt  tensioner

i've noticed my 150 tdi engine is noticeably noiser than the 140 tdi engine both hot and cold
