Sometimes the lock on my tailgate stops responding to central locking and I have to do it manually. Later or starts working again. I've no idea of that's random or if there's a fix I've done without realising. Any clues?

Broken wire or corroded pin in the cable connecting through the tailgate to the main body of the car.

Or, the lick mechanism is starting to fail..

Check for cable breaks first though

Yes. I dont have fat fingers, but sometimes this phone drives me nuts with o/i typos
