DSG & Inclination Sensor??

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

I've noticed over the last few weeks the DSG gearbox doesn't want to change up whilst going up any sort of hill, its really hanging on to gears. flat or down hill no problems, I would guess it uses some sort of inclination sensor, any idea where its located and how to test it or reset it...?

Octavia 2 FL 2.0 DP DSG 6 speed...

Thanks

Get it scanned for fault codes.

The only inclination sensor I'm aware of is part of the ABS module. I don't think there is a separate one for the engine or DSG 😕

I would be very surprised if that was down to an inclination sensor. That will be monitored by the torque request of the engine, going up hill, more effort required.

@Quattrodaveuk - As @Tech1e says, if you're using more throttle up hill, the transmission will hold lower gears for longer.

Is the oil / filter servicing of the DSG to the schedule, and if it is in 'S' is it holding even longer on the same inclines at the same speed?

Yes, that makes perfect sense, but there are a few hills near by not steep but definate hills and it suddenly started displaying this behaviour.

Yes servicing is upto date, hmmmm good question about 'S' i don't know... Works fine if i flick it into manual...

Thanks
