Karoq MY19 Driver/Passenger Seat Recline Issue

Featured Replies

I also stuck a bit of tape and the same happened, similarly slowly...but....now seems to have fixed itself. All I did was wind the seat as upright as it would go (nose to the steering wheel!), then back to my preferred position, and so far so good (about 200 miles done since then). I will update after another few hundred miles...

Now that’s deffo worth a try, many thanks.

Hi Guys,

I'm having a nightmare with this problem.  My seat does exactly this and its been in the garage for 1 week so far.  They say they can't replicate and went to technical for advice. Technical have told them that this is not and issue / they have not had this reported. Told the dealer I am not happy.  The only reason I am not happy is really from a safety perspective  - I just don't know how the seat will react in an accident and whether it is safe.  Added to this (of course) it is a pain to have to adust it every day (but if it was only that I could live with it).  The garage tell me that they are in a tricky situation - I have been advised that the they "can't replicate it" and "its never been seen by us before".  They can test it properly because they are unable to drive it for an hour or more (to see it happen) as they are not able to claim the costs back from the warranty side of things..  I sat in the car with them observing and "simulated" a drive by bouncing around on the seat and wiggling and the dial moved probably 1cm - so for me that was demonstrated.

I'm not sure where I can go next.  I have asked the garage to escalate it to Skoda UK and give me a case reference number.  I can then talk to them about it but I feel this is not going to go the way it should be going.  I am so fed up with this - I really want my car back.  I am pretty rural so going to another garage is going to be quite difficult. The only other garage in sensible driving distance is a Seat garage - What can I do with Skoda UK that is going to make them sit up and listen?

I said that I might be able to get some other people to give me their case reference numbers (where they have had the frame replaced) but I fear Skoda UK will not accept these as they will likely be done on a case-by-case basis.

Grrrrrrrr.

Thanks

Paul
