Man in Wales fined for carrying a car on his roof rack!

Featured Replies

Thats pretty ludicrous tbf..

Think it just exceeds the 75kg limit for the Passat roof. Who loaded it on the roof though? They should be fined more than the idiot driving through town dangling above him.

I'm just giving him credit for not putting the Passat on top of the Octavia...

If you read the article, someone with a forklift put it there,  because they also "lifted both cars up to check it was strapped tightly".. and he only drove it 300yds at 5mph.... that all makes it perfectly fine and legit... total court over reaction

Sure and it'll be fine!

They should have "borrowed" 4 skateboards from the local yoofs and just pushed it 300 yards at 3 mph. A for effort, D+ for stupidity.

If you think about it...the Passat (alone) should be able to be entirely inverted without the occupants being crushed to death by the weight of itself on its roof, so...it's fine! :D

I'm sure you're right, I just wouldn't fancy trying to persuade the local plod that A ) it was safe and secure,  and B ) that I wasn't criminally insane.

Didn't they already do this for a Top Gear episode?
